Believe it or not, it is possible that your upper receiver is canted (can happen).

Per the mil-spec, you can have 11 clicks in either direction and still be classified as "in spec."

With that said, the rail might need to re-installed OR the rail is touching gas block and it is pushing the rail to one side.

Thanks for the feed back everyone. After talking to Troy and Wes and hearing from everyone on here it sounds right.

I would really try some different sights before putting blame on the upper or barrel.

That looks like a Vltor MUR, while lemons happen, I think its much more possible for the sights to be off as opposed to the rail.

In my experiance with the upper's i've built, sighting them in etc, the Troys are no where near a precision sight.

If you are looking for a nice BUIS that will lend itself well to precision shooting, look hard at the KACs. They are expensive, but the only sight i'll use from here out.

That adjustment is kind of typical with Troy sights IMO.

My Magpul rear MBUS is about in the same location on a BCM 16" Middy upper with FSB

I was a little concerned, but as stated, I still have windage left if I need it

For what it is worth, mine is exact same with that rear sight.... I thought it was strange as well.

There have been people on this site who's rear site was maxed all the way to one side and still weren't zeroed. That was an issue. Your circumstance is pretty normal.

Everybody I know with an Magpul rear BUS has this same situation, and that includes several manufacturers' uppers. I have seen it on one Daniel Defense as well.

The MBUS on my midelength is slightly less than yours.

The fixed A2 carry ahndle on my Colt 6520 is slightly less than yours s well, but in te opposite direction. Both have travel left, boht shoot fine.

I wouldn;t getperticularly upset about it. If it shoots the center of your target the same at 50 yards as it does at 100 or 200, then I'd say it's fine.

Now if it was right at 50, on at 100, and left at 200, I'd say there is a problem.

I would try to check POI at 50, 100, 200, and 300 yards to see if there is any horizontal shift. I think that is the more important thing than if its centered on the markings on the sight itself.

For instance you don't want to be zeroed at 100 but shooting 3" right at 50, and a foot over at 200-300. Drop is not important in testing this just horizontal movement. If the sights aren't in alignment with the bore your POI will be shifted either L or R as the range increases or decreases from where you zeroed.

You can check to see if the rail is off center by removing the irons and looking down the abck of the receiver. My Larue rail was off center by about 1/20th of a degree or some small infenticemal amount and it caused me to almost bottom out my right windage. One crank on the barrel nut and now I am two clicks left of center.

So is everyones rear buis centered pretty much?
No, your positioning is totally normal. I have 2 Troy rear BUIS set ups and they are exactly 2 notches over to the left just like yours.
    You are good to go.
