Jeans, tip that gives a little more room for CCW.

I have noticed it is alot easier to conceal carry with 36X34 pants vs 36X30. I have started getting the inseam 4 inches longer and then getting them hemed back to 32 or where every I want. There is about 1" more material from top of the pants to the crotch. Can't speak for all jeans, but for the levi's I wear it works. Makes for a much easier carry and sit.

The seat length is relative to the inseam, so yes, more room. I noticed this also with the 5:11, Woolrich, etc.

The only downside is that it looks like you took a shit in your britches...

I figured the same thing out after losing quite a bit of weight and apparently getting shorter. I went from a 38X34 to a 33X32 and my old pants (i have some 36's that i still CC with) have a TON of room in the crotch.

Might work for you guys, but good luck finding a 36 inseam on the rack.

    No kidding.
I wear 32X34 for utility/carry (30X34 normally), and they are hard enough to find anywhere.

    Boy, do I hear that!

I wear 38/36 and they pretty much only exist by special order. But, since I also take a size 15 shoe, I can order pants at the same time. Try finding shoes or boots on the shelf in that size.

I'd try the op's suggestion, but that would put me in a size 40 and I don't think my ego could swallow that one.

Waist and inseam combinations can be quirky. Most manufacturers will expect you to be either skinny and short, fat and short, but not average. Likewise, they'll expect you to be tall and skinny, or tall and fat, but not in the middle. I wear a 36x36, and generally have decent luck but I know where to get what I want. Likewise, with my big feet.

If you like long inseams without sloppy looks, go to your local ranch or work store and look for certain Wranglers and Cinch jeans. Both are available in inseams in 36, 38, and 40 inches without the added length up top. They also tend to be available in odd sizes. I can buy the Cinch jeans in 35x38 off the rack.

If shopping for jeans that are ccw friendly, Wrangler's "check out my anatomy" jeans are a poor choice.

I can't wear them even if I'm carrying nothing in them but underwear? But I agree, clothing seems to come very generalized into the short & fat or tall & skinny varieties.

Makes me long for the days when clothing was tailor made.
