Damn! I wish this option was around when I bought my SP.
    Great starter rifle

They may luck out with their slow reaction as there appears that the luster is wearing off the midlength hype and there is a contrarian trend brewing going back to the carbine-length.

I used to think that Colt not having a mid-length was a big deal, but more and more I'm realizing that the things that seem to be strong trends in isolated circles do not always carry over to the market as a whole.

Competition means better products at lower prices!

Now, if they could only find a way to be able to sell all their rifles in their home state, then I would be first in line to grab one.

Grant, do you know or can you find out if people residing in CT can purchase these weapons? Being a new model, I don't know how it would fit into CT AWB categories.

Thanks a bunch for the post!
Don't CT residents have t have a gun with no bayo lug and a pinned MB?

That's cool and all. I tried the MOE grip because I thought I might like that part, but I'm one of those nuts who likes the finger bump on his grip. I run a MIAD on my Home D gun.... so I'm not bashing Magpul's stuff.

I just don't like anything in the MOE line.

I like the MIAD as well (run it), but the MOE is hard to beat for the price (assuming you like the thickness).

Has nothing to do with money (as a middy barrel and gas tube are the same price as a carbine barrel and gas tube).

I also do not think there is a justifiable reliability difference between a mid-length gas and a carbine gas.

So what it comes down to is rail length. Many prefer a longer rail. This can be accomplished by simply installing a low profile GB and a rail (or shaving down the FSB). If Colt started offering a GB and a Rail, people would complain about the rail (as it wasn't their "FAV"). Also remember that when a manufacturer puts an expensive item on a gun, they have to pay 11% FET on it. They just pass that cost onto you.
So it is cheaper for you, the consumer to install an expensive rail, stock or trigger onto the gun VS the manufacturer doing it.

I suspect that your instructor will be pointing out that there are no "IRREFUTABLE FACTS". Not in advertising, and not in politics.

That makes two of us, the rest of the world seems to disagree though.
