I was also there is the spring of '84. C-1-1 (Sandhill). We had brand new barracks - poor Harmony Church still had WW2 barracks.

Thank you everyone for the kind words.

SW Shooter: I have not served. I would love to and I've given much thought about it for when I finish college but I don't think I'd be eligible due to certain medical conditions.

Stand your ground; don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here. -- Captain John Parker, Lexington, 1775.

I went to Relaxin Jackson but our bays were the exact same setup.

Congrats to your brother. Takes a lot just to get through making the decision to join, and graduating. Not anything anyone would want to go through twice but its rewarding to do something most people never will.

I apologize for the side track, but are those dress uniforms what all the Soldiers wear these days, or just the Infantry?

They are a sharp looking uniform. My daughter will be likely heading off to Fort Jackson when she graduates from high school in the spring. I'm just curious, and have forwarded her this thread for a bit of motivation.

    Thank you kindly.

New dress uniform to replace the green ones. I think they look a lot better now, and the green ones gave the Army the worst dress uniform of any service.

There's only one way to be a Soldier in the Army, but there's 210 ways to support him...

Congrats to your brother, despite how everyone always complains about how much easier it is to get your Blue Cord now vs when they got it, it's still hard to earn and should be worn with great pride.
