I have considered it. ive read post that suggest i can buy a colt for around 1100 or less. Seems that some wal-marts are stocking them now.

Ya I know old thread . I have on order ( now being shipped ) stag model3 with plus pk
$820 shipped . Now looking in to back up sights then a red dot or 1-4 scope ???

The plus pk seems like a good buy to me.

Wow can't be leave the stag haters here? From what I have read 99% Positive reviews.

That said I picked up a new model 3 with the plus pk for $820 shipped .
I feel that's a lot of bang for the buck.

And 99% of those people don't know dick about ar's nor run them hard or do anything but shoot at beer cans twice a year. We are the 1% on this site.

So the stag plus pk can't do more then beer cans twice a year.
Ya I'm kinda new to the ar stuff but shoot a lot of sporting clays .
My cheap browning $3000 will do what the 10k guns will do.
It's the Indian not the arrow.
Educate me what's wrong with the plus pk

Let me guess it's not a colt
I think the guys who spend 2k or more need to justify the expense

Or a BCM, or Daniel Defense, or Noveske, or ...

Unfortunately, when it comes to firearm reliability it is the "arrow", i.e. the rifle.

Depending on what you want to do with your rifle, I'm sure your Stag will be fine.

That being said, you could have bought a Colt or a BCM for under $1000.

To answer your question, if you feel the need to buy an optic, I'd go with an Aimpoint T-1/H-1 in a Daniel Defense mount.

Why would I buy that when I can buy a Colt 6920 for a few dollars more ? Or use that money and buy my favorite, a BCM upper. I don't shoot from a bench slow fire. I run my ARs hard and I have to trust my life, my family's life and my Brothers life with my AR. I know my Colt or My BCM will not fail me when I need it most. Maybe you just plink or sit at a bench so that Stag or any AR will serve you well. Me, I'll give my money to Paul and the BCM crew, Grant or Colt and sleep well.
