second build. need some help/advice 7.62x39!!!

ok, so i built a nice 556 ar no problem. shot sub moa with my eotech all day for under 700 bucks. now my second build im having a few problems. heres a list of parts i have. (im going all out on this one)
    - ar performance 7.62x39 16inch barrel with mid length gas system
    - ar performance bolt
    - noveske matched upper and lower
    - colt lpk
    - colt bolt carrier
    - giessel trigger
    - magpul ubr stock
    - yhm diamond rifle length free float for end
    - yhm lo-pro gas block
    - mid length gas tube
ill have cactus weapons systems put it all together for me and true up my barrel and receiver and set my head space (they put together my last ar and do a awesome job. my secret to sub moa)

ok so getting to my problem is i dont know what buffer to use!
id like to keep all my little parts colt if i can. money is not a concern anymore as im trying to build my dream gun. id like to do some 3gun/hunting/plinking with this one so it has to be 110% reliable and id like the best buffer for the job.

also like any tips/pointer yall could throw my way. would sure be helpful. thanks -zach

My honest opinion? If you want 7.62x39 get an AK. I'm sure they're out there but I've never seen a reliable AR in 7.62x39. Lots of magazine issues. Lots of sub-par bolts floating around. Basically, a lot of BS for nothing. The juice is not worth the squeeze.

You want an AR with similar ballistic performance? Go with .300 BLK. Similar ballistic performance to 7.62x39 but you can use standard AR magazines and a standard AR bolt. The only difference is the barrel and extension. Do some research on it and I think you'll agree it is a better choice.

First off, before you continue to read my post you should really just use the search feature that this site offers.

That being said, why exactly do you want a 7.62x39 AR? Not to say that it's a inherently bad round, but it isn't the best choice of cartridge for an AR due to the fact that it has a tapered case, making it less reliable. (One of the main reasons the .300 Blackout was created)

If you really want a "110% reliable" 16" barreled, x39 rifle, your best bet is a quality AK (see Arsenal)

Now as for your parts list, you did well for the most part. Except you should consider a good quality rail that doesn't weigh a ton, then you most likely wont need that heavy ass (and expen$ive) stock to balance out the weapon.

This is all just my opinion.

That is honestly an AWFUL idea. The noveske pig is designed for rifles with super sort barrels, high velocity rounds, with huge muzzle blast. A 16" 7.62x39 is none of those.

if i did get the pig id have my barrel turned down to 13 inch bringing all to 16. so it would be a short barrel like its intended for.

ok i appreciate the advice but-
    1. i dont want 300 blk or 6.5 or any of those rounds i want 7.62x39
    2. i dont want another ak, if i need one i can grab the one in my truck or the couple i have in my safe. or even my mini30 would do the trick
    3. i like 7.62x39 and it ballistics better than 556. nothing against 556 but im a 30 cal kinda guy
    4. im not to concerned with the tapered case since i have a mid length gas tube it should let enough pressure out to ensure reliable operation.
    5. all the parts on my list i already have, just need a buffer! not worried about the rail or stock weight. if it proves to heavy to carry then i dont need to be carrying around a rifle lol.
    6. the mag problems havent scared me off ill figure something out. also working with a buddy to stick a ar mag ontop of a ak 90 round drum just for funzies. kinda like a frankenmag on roids.
    7. as for the bolt im hopeing this ar performance 7.62x39 bolt will take care of that, if not then i will look elsewhere.
    8. and to answer why i want a 7.62x39 ar, well why not! its my favorite round coming out of one of my favorite rifles. and the challenges of the build only make it more fun and worthwhile.

and still no answer to what buffer i need lol. i would like to hear from someone who actually has a 7.62x39ar

anywho thanks for all yalls input

Couldn't have said it better myself.

If you really want one, and really want it "110% reliable", I hope you have magical powers. No matter who builds it, and with what parts, the magazine/cartridge geometry issues won't go away.

IIRC there were some companies making AR lowers that accepted AK mags, which was probably your best bet. However, they seem to all have gone out of business which doesn't lead me to believe they had much success with their attempts.
