Alibi...I don't own a 7.62x39 AR. I just don't like the problems associated with them. So, you've got me there, I guess.
I have, however, been around them plenty. Violent and over-gassed would be my way of describing their function.
Obviously, a heavy buffer is going to help some. If you're serious about this, a rifle extension / buffer would likely be the best bet. A VLTOR A5 would also be a good idea. Otherwise, an H3 buffer would likely work best if you want a carbine length buffer spring.
But, again, that was only my experience. And I know nothing about the barrel you have selected. You should talk to them about their gas ports. If they're on the small end of the spectrum, you might get by with a standard carbine buffer. If not (and this is more likely), you will be better served by a heavier buffer.
The reality is that since there's no standard for 7.62x39 AR's, you may end up having to do trial and error to determine what buffer works best.

Fair enough.
The reason the tapered case is malfunction prone has nothing to do with the gas tube length, it has to do with feeding.
I could carry an m60 just fine, that doesn't mean I choose to carry around a 25lb weapon.
- from what i understood from what iv read is the tapered case is a problem because of case expansion in the chamber making it hard to pull out and the taper also makes it tricky in the mags.
-true true, but i can alway swap in something lighter if i want, but im using what i have on hand

Just because Uncle Sam says anything under 16" is "short barreled" doesn't mean the Noveske Pig is going to be beneficial. Its a bad idea because the pig pretty much only has a benefit when used on less than 11.5" barreled 5.56 carbines. Let alone a slow velocity round that burns its powder fast.
But hey man, you can put what ever the heck you want at the end of your barrel, I'm just stating my humble opinion.
