anatolian, disregard all below the dotted line.

The one time I don't read the entire thread before responding, and it bites me in the ass.

But I will say that's why I said "call brightflashlights" and I didn't put a link in my post.

brightflashlights website has never been up to speed.

But if you call, Kevin will treat you right.

First time I called him and asked a few questions, I was pretty much flooded with info.

And his shipping is extremely fast and very reasonably priced.

I've been buying Surefire stuff exclusively from him, and I see no reason to change.

Please tell me how you arrived at that conclusion.

    I will tell you that:

    1. I bought an x300 from brightflashlights.

    2. In a 2009 order from them they sent a green flyer that lists the x300 and its price.

    3. The flyer states, "This pricelist is not for distribution and prices are subject to change."

    4. I don't think their website has ever been complete. I don't even look at it; I just call.

He said it was because the site showed that section under construction. I think he just had a misunderstanding over that.

In all honesty they should have had the site up and running long ago. At least put "call for price and availability" or some such.

    Agreed.

And I gotta admit I'm a bit testy after a major incident on another site - so I accept all responsibility for the misunderstanding.

Along with "call brightflashlights" I should have added "don't go to their website because it's a mess."

And speaking of their website, it sure is something I don't understand. I've been dealing with them for about 7 or 8 years. And every time I call with questions, I get a larger answer than I asked for - the guy is OCD about lights. I say that with respect.

Heck, I've called him around 1300 TX (1400 his FL time) time to order something, and he mailed it within hours of taking my order.

Maybe he figures he has enough business without the website...I don't know.

Regardless, I'll keep buying stuff from him. And I will state I've never found any Surefire stuff cheaper anywhere else. Except a few years ago batts at the PX were cheaper - they're not now.

Sheesh...that reads like a freaking commercial.

I called Kevin from Bright Flashlight and they have the X300 in stock for $215 shipped. I can get it on my local gun shop for $229 so its $14 dollars cheaper. so I don't know if the $14 savings is worth the wait since I live in Oregon and Bright Flashlight are somewhere in East side. so It might be a week of wait. should I Order it or just pick one up at my local gun shop?

    Bummer - the price increased.

Only you can decide if $14.00 is worth the wait.

One picture of a prototype on a blue gun came out of the last SHOT show if I remember correctly. What was depicted looked a lot more like a single cell E1B style light. The only reason I have interest in it is that I "believe" it will fit on an HK45C rail. I caught one other picture of one on that gun. But I can't say much beyond that.

There were some rumblings it was slated to be out in November of this year. But, well, you know.

I own two x300 surefire lights. They are outstanding. One is on the 12 o'clock position of the larue rail on an M4. The other is on a Glock 22 carried in a Raven concealment holster. They are expensive, but they are well worth the money. Having the light mounted all the time to the weapon is invaluable.

On a very dark night recently I had to walk a mile on trails surrounded with high growth. Instead of using the surefire z2, I used the x300 on my Glock. The volume of light was incredible.

Once you actually use the x300 in a practical environment you will forget about the price.

I am pretty sure that I am going to run a x400 on a full sized USP in a raven holster. How sturdy is that with the Raven? I have a Glock19 one which has always been great, but as you know a USP is much larger.
