    Who's the fastest M4C member?

ME!!! Today I'm flying from Hartford to Las Vegas and it's a 6 hour flight so I thought I'd purchase the Southwest wi-fi and see how it goes. In fact I'm in the air right now somewhere over middle America...

The service is fairly quick when you consider I'm probably around 36,00 feet or so and surfing the web with good results. I thought I'd verify my speed using CNET's speed meter and here's what I came up with.

Notice the banner across the top. "Online. In the air..."

Really convenient and I can email back and forth with the wifey while traveling the friendly skies to firm up our dinner plans. Nothing like having a conversation with someone miles and miles away while flying through the air at 500mph. If you're on a flight and want to surf the net it's cheap entertainment, or use it for business, and I'd definitely recommend ponying up the $5 for the ride. Technology's cool!

Hmmm. I was gonna say my usual pickup line is, "I'll give you the most average 36 seconds of your life." Clearly the wrong context when speaking of "fast."

I have yet to take a flight long enough that the onboard wifi cost was worth it, and neither of my most recent international flights offered the service. It would have been very helpful flying back and forth from Japan. Have you tried streaming Netflix or anything to see how the quality is?
I'm not cool. I just do this stuff for fun.

On Southwest it's only $5 and well worth it for a 6 hour flight. Just logged on to Netflix and it worked like a champ! It took about 45 seconds to spool up and I watched a few minutes of a movie. Should've brought headphones...

"You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline - it helps if you have some kind of football team, or some nuclear weapons, but in the very least you need a beer."

Yeah, no doubt. We just went to Japan and back in September. Would have died to have wifi.
