Forget the deer feeder and the hole idea. If you want to bait them in order to shoot them build a pig pipe out of 6" pvc. (just google pig pipe).

Its way cheaper and keeps them very pre-occupied. And makes enough noise you'll know when they are hitting it.

I'm not much of a hunter, but I do wish I lived some place where I could hunt hogs with my AR. That would be good hunting and eating, and doing both on an animal that's not supposed to be there and destructive = win

I'm honestly more likely to take a picture of a deer then shoot it, but wild hogs are another issue.

Why not an M4C hog hunting party? I claim dibs on any guest rooms open.

I know a guy that will take you up in a helo for 600/hour....minimum of 2hrs. Shoot all of the pigs you can find.

What part of MS are you in? I'm down around Biloxi temporarily and wouldn't mind helping you test the hunting. I've got a buddy that would loan me a set of NVGs too

How have you dealt with them?

    Traps?

    AR-15 time?

I know in Mississippi which is where I'm located, you can hunt them at night.

Really wish I had a NOD and a suppressor right about now.

This. If you're wanting to have a real impact, build some traps.

I went pig hunting in FL a few weeks ago, here is pics of three of the four that I got. The red one and the really big on I used my BCM LW midlength and head shot them both with BH Mk262Mod1 and the other pig pic I shot through and through using my .300BLK with Hornady 110gr VMAX .300 Whisper ammo. My fourth pig isn't pictured because that morning I forgot my phone and camera, it was smaller (55lbs) and I head shot it with BH 50gr TRX 5.56mm ammo up close (we used dogs that day).

That last picture had me LMFAO.

Robb, I assume the 5.56 was adequate on even the bigger ones, or do you prefer the 300blk?

Yeah all three with 5.56mm worked fine but all were headshots. The only pig I shot through the front shoulders was with the .300BLK.

With the 5.56, I only shoot through the front shoulder using handloaded Barnes 70 grain TSX, my normal 75-77 grain heavy OTM handloads won't penetrate bone, so I always shoot for an easy double lung shot right behind the elbow or scapula.
