The "Great Recession" began in late 2007 and the economy fell off a cliff in September of 2008, but the decline in living standards for most middle-income Americans had been baked in long before that.

our purchasing power used to be huge in the 1950s-60s. The mother of a family didnt even need to work because one income was more than enough to cover a family with multiple kids. Try that today.

Correct, but we gave it back to them in 1913 when the US was sold to the private corporation known as The Federal Reserve.
