I have a DD LPK in a Noveske lower. After my first class I replaced the safety and mag release with G&R parts. The DD safety detent channel was not machined well and caused a heavy crunchy feel to flip on and off. The mag release was getting chewed up for an unknown reason. 1500 rounds later G&R mag catch and safety running like a champ, no damage to the mag release.

My experiences mirror this. Not impressed at all with DD's LPK (I tried two, exchanged the first one and second one was the same).

So far all my LMT LPKs have been great (obviously part of LMT lowers) but I did have an issue with one LMT GI trigger being gritty.

I've only used two PSA kits and they've been awesome, nice crisp break on the trigger and besides the safety looking ugly its smooth and crisp. Don't like the bolt catch though, LMTs one feels much nicer, even though the PSA works fine I just like the finer machined grooves of the LMT.

I personally use D/D LPK's minus the FCG. I had one basically completely malfunction within 200 rounds and basically made the gun a near F/A gun 90% of the time. Not good. D/D actually replied to my email the next day (on a weekend), and told me to send the lower in for inspection, and replacement of the FCG. Didn't bother, threw it in a bag, and installed my CMC FCG.

So, A+ to D/D's customer service. The rest of their parts kit is top notch. I'm going to get another D/D kit for the next build as well, just due to them being so outstanding on their help. Of course, since I only run CMC kits, I won't be using the stock D/D FCG.

I have a spike's kit in my lower and just installed a bushmaster kit in my father inlaw's lower. Hands down the bushmaster is smoother than the spike's. I'm not really sure which is better.

Yeah, I'm admittedly a DD fanboy and support and promote their products to all my acquaintances BUT i'm not to crazy for their LPK's. This is just a sample of 1 but when i installed the DD part kit in my DD lower i thought everything went together perfectly. The issue is that the selector is very hard to manipulate and very rough. I was thinking of polishing the detent but i said "screw it" and left it alone. The trigger feels solid and has little to no creep but it's pretty heavy for my taste.

I have not had any trouble with the mag catch/release or bolt catch. Those parts seems pretty solid and smooth. DD makes so much stuff in house I wonder if they source their LPK's to focus more time & tooling to barrels, BCG's, forearms etc...

I didn't realize how much the selector was lacking until I got my LMT MWS.......That selector switch is butter

An absolute pitfall on my DD LPK is the selector as well. Positive click but too much break force to switch with thumb during tactical training. You now have to pull this action of safe/fire out of the "No mental resources used" and focus attention on making sure you position the thumb for a good swipe. G&R's LPK's were sold out so I ordered 3 from another source but they haven't shipped since the 18th. So I'm going to see if G&R has them back in stock and cancel my previous order from XXX.

Why not just get a new selector from DD to replaces that one.

I must say that I have installed 5 DD LPK and all 5 had horrible safety selectors. Of course they were all replaced with the ambi selector of my choice. As a matter of fact I just installed number 5 this morning but I don't have the safety selector yet so the DD selector is still in the rifle.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one to have a stiff selector in my DD rifle. I disassembled my lower figuring I'd find a burr or be able to smooth things out. The only thing I could fix was I removed some material from the trigger tang. It was contacting the selector, making it even stiffer when using the safety with the bolt locked back. I didn't take too much off as to affect the safety of the weapon.
