    About the "step".

Last night I got a cartridge, and ran it over the feedramps, over and over in a manner that it feeds, even did high angle and low angle and a slight left/right feeding, I couldn't feel any kind of catch.

    laters...

    Porkchop,

To me your barrel extension looks slightly turned clockwise. That's pretty much what I see in all of them.

Perhaps it's the shadow or photograph, but that's what I see.

    Thanks for the pics nonetheless.

    Best,
    Harold

I've seen pics of some that are not, but mine must have been put together on a good day?

With regard to shipping and credit card billing for my PSA Patrol Carbine, my card was not billed immediately, but it was billed a few days prior to shipping. It took a little less than 3 weeks to get the rifle from the time I ordered it from PSA until it arrived at my local FFL dealer. PSA sent me an "E" when the rifle shipped with a tracking number.

I assumed the rifle had been test fired because when I ran a Froglubed patch down the barrel it came out dirty. Also, the Magpul BUS was correctly zeroed in right out of the box.

    No problem.

My ramps are aligned correctly, but they don't "blend" perfectly as others have said here. However, it hasn't been a problem & I've experienced no catch/drag thus far, even with polymer tipped Horndy TAP.

I'm happy so far, but I'm not a cheerleader for anybody either, if it works it works.

    UPDATE

I asked for a tracking number, and they told me that they are waiting for bolts/carriers to get back in stock.

While I am sure they are going to send me the rifle, I can't help but be a little bugged.

Inventory Control - Palmetto State Armory, LLC has an active inventory control system. If the web site allows you to order a product it is in stock. We do not backorder products.
Perhaps they should not say that if they are going to DO it.

Sourcing quality components does not a quality manufacturer make.

I'd love for more competition but after a different AR assembler got overwhelmed and had a meltdown I'm not willing to worry about a couple $100 over the life of a 20,000 rnd rifle.

I've picked my brand and I think I'll stick with it.

Yes, I'm sure you have a "100% rifle that functions flawlessly" and it's defects "are purely cosmetic and don't affect function". "Fit and finish are perfect" - whatever that means...

I guess I'm gonna dance with the girl who brought me...

    Best,
    Harold

Took me once... to learn the lesson. Hoped for good. Disappointing to say the least.

There is no phrase that bugs me more.

If I had a choice between a Rock river, or a BCM covered in feces...I'd take the dung-gun. I'd tell everyone the "B" stood for bowel though

Which rifle, upper, lower, or parts, is an individual's choice. Respectfully, I don't care what you buy. And, your personal experiences are just that. My PSA upper is as accurate and reliable as my Colt, my Noveske, and my BCM.

It appears to me that there is a real effort to make PSA look worse than the situation really calls for. Every company, including the "big" names, has had some type of problem(s), yet this thread, that began as a positive range-report, has turned in to a PSA critique.

If you don't like PSA, or you don't want to save some money... then buy elsewhere. There's just been too much effort in the campaign against PSA.

If you have an issue with PSA, I urge you to contact them first and resolve the problem before you start posting your issues here.
