    HOP,

This doesn't surprise me one bit. Its even taken a step further: I may have this wrong, but according to the news coming down from the grapevine, we are now in ANOTHER theater of war down in Africa, only this time we are helping the MUSLIMS fight the Christians! I don't know where to confirm this, but your research skills seem pretty sharp, so maybe you can find something.

Everything in the past 6-12 months just seems to have been thrown into hyper-drive! Its unreal.

I think this might be the first time where I actually don't know what to say.

It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

getting close to election time... Obama's gotta get as many friends as he can

If Reagan were here... there'd be a news conference and he'd say... "...there is a darkness inside of me. It wants to get out, it wants to walk around. It wants some walkin around money. And it wants to buy some shoes. And it wants to walk up to you Muslim Bastards and say hey Reagan don't play no shit, you feel me? Reagan never been about that, Reagan never been about playin no shit."

and that would be that... and this p/c shit wouldn't exist

Are you referencing the current issue in the Sudan? Or the other which I am hearing from "religious missionary" channels in/near Namibia?

The latest war he has gotten us involved in is Uganda. The rebels are a christian sect known as the Lord's Resistance Army. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord's_Resistance_Army

    Bloomberg:

President Barack Obama authorized about 100 “combat-equipped U.S. forces,” including special operations personnel, to central Africa to help fight against Uganda’s renegade Lord’s Resistance Army and its leader, Joseph Kony.
The troops are to “provide assistance to regional forces that are working toward” Kony’s removal “from the battlefield,” Obama said today in a letter to House and Senate leaders released by the White House.
The White House was responding to 2010 legislation pushed by a group of lawmakers and human rights organizations that supported a comprehensive U.S. effort short of active military involvement to mitigate or eliminate the Lord’s Resistance Army threat.
The Lord’s Resistance Army for more than 20 years “has murdered, raped and kidnapped tens of thousands of men, woman and children in central Africa,” Obama’s letter said. The State Department has designated the group a terrorist organization, and in 2008 the Treasury Department added Kony to its list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists.

I heard about the Africa debacle a few days ago... Correct me if I'm wrong but I faintly remember the US sending "advisers" to a not-so-well known South Asian country about 47 years ago.... how'd that turn out?

Lest we go off the rails with the current canard (popularized by Limbaugh, no less) that President Obama unilaterally dispatched American special forces to aid muslim forces in killing christians in Uganda, let's get the facts straight.

Senate Bill 1067, the Lord's Resistance Army Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act of 2009, was introduced in May of 2009, passed the Senate by unanimous consent in March of 2010, passed in the House two days later by voice vote with no record of individual votes taken, and was signed into law by the President on March 24, 2010.

The LRA, despite their claims of christian ideology, are some serious low-life mother****ers. They've engaged in a laundry list of crimes against the Ugandan people, including kidnapping, murder, rape, sex trafficking of children, forced slave labor, etc., etc, etc. (http://www.globalsecurity.org/milita...d/para/lra.htm)

Feel free to support or oppose the intervention. But let's not misrepresent the facts and play the religion card in an attempt to vilify Obama.

If the LRA are the best christians Uganda has to offer, I say bring on the lions.
