Ok so this is confirmed then....I also forgot to mention that this new "front" was ordered on the whim of our Valiant Leader which bypassed Congress....yet again! I know the media is not covering things like this, but why is this guy able to do these things without question by AT LEAST Congress!?!?

ETA: Montana, while what you claim doesn't sound far fetched, I still need to confirm this before I let this one go (on the religious side of it). However, what I wrote above about how he has bypassed Congress NUMEROUS times still stands, though. Also, please explain why we "need" to be in Africa again?

The LRA, despite their claims of christian ideology, are some serious low-life mother****ers. They've engaged in a laundry list of crimes against the Ugandan people, including kidnapping, murder, rape, sex trafficking of children, forced slave labor, etc., etc, etc. (http://www.globalsecurity.org/milita...d/para/lra.htm)

Feel free to support or oppose the intervention. But let's not misrepresent the facts and play the religion card in an attempt to vilify Obama.

If the LRA are the best christians Uganda has to offer, I say bring on the lions.

I didn't say anything about any of that.

While I feel bad for the Ugandan people, I do however have to ask why is this our concern?

Isn't the EU capable of dealing with such circumstances, involving their own region?
they are the 3rd largest military force in existence, with a population larger than the US.... so why are we grabbing our pooper-scooper when someone shits in their back yard?

I think we have crossed a scary line where I not only miss Bill Clinton as President, but might actually vote for him.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

My apologies. I did not mean to suggest you were promoting a distorted version of these events. I read an earlier comment which referenced "Muslims fighting christians" and your post identified the LRA as a christian sect. I simply wanted to provide some additional information to clarify the situation.

I don't know where to confirm this, but your research skills seem pretty sharp, so maybe you can find something.

Everything in the past 6-12 months just seems to have been thrown into hyper-drive! Its unreal.
We did help Muslims in Kosovo.

Sorry Hop, gonna call bullshit on this one too. Article was not picked up by a single other major news outlet. A lot of factual errors in the article, no source cited, blame cast on the CINC when no line for the supposed order can be drawn. An order from the White House is a called an Executive Order, they are published and there just isn't one. A member of DOJ is cited in the same breath as Federal Law Enforcement training when DHS, not DOJ runs the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. In addition, Deputy U.S. Attorney General James Cole is the DOJ Press Officer, he doesn't "direct" jack shit and he is named as the supposed "man" behind this "directive".
