I've had some spotty experiances with CP mags. I have high hopes for their 7.62x39 mags though

I bought a few dozen C-Product aluminum 30 rd. mags about the time they were first introducing their S/S mag. Shortly after, I also obtained several 20 rd. mags. All were purchased with the gray Magpul followers. I've not experienced any problems with them & they get used quite a bit. However, I've seen a number of people bitching about their QC - if quality is down, then it appears mine were manufactured prior. Regardless of where I obtain any AR mags & followers, they're disassembled, cleaned, burrs removed, excess plastic flashing removed from followers, bodies refinished & numbered. As a result, very few fail unless they hit the deck real hard, been trampled on or run over by a vehicle. My experience is that the Magpul followers have been the most reliable, but I've seen some stick occasionally on other peoples' mags.

Why risk it? I have always felt that their QC policy is to send them out to the field and then deal with the fallout. Poor decision when peoples lives are counting on these products.
My feelings EXACTLY! (The Olympic Arms business model if you will)

Unacceptable failure rate as far as I’m concerned.

I've had too much trouble lately with others. Crappy welds, not dropping free, etc. I had to send a C products back because of a front seam gap.

I recently bought a batch of Centers made in 2004 and not one dropped free from any of my lowers.
Same here. I have 3 Centers that are tight. I do use them for range mags so that I can realize some value out of them. But they’re in their own pouch for easy ID. They run fine, but are not right on the outer dimensions.

First let me say that I am not telling you how to spend your money. I wouldn't do that.

I agree. I have over 50 mags for five and a half ARs. I'll probably never use 25 of those mags in my lifetime.

    Talking Josh Mag-Man

I was stationed at Ft Gordon Ga. and Ft Hood Tx. and I kick my self in the but for not buying more stuff when I had the chance. I'm like you I have TWO Teenage sons I want to pass this stuff on too. I dont want them to have to worry about wether or not they can get ammo-mags or parts. I moved back to Calif. after my Medical discharge and had to drive to a Vegas gun show just to get a few mags and parts. You cant even get some compainies to send a spare bolt to Calif. My kids live in Agusta Ga. with my ex-wife. I'm thinkin of movin back east to be close to them. ANYWAY if you do buy 100mags Id be more than willing to purchase a few if you thought maybe you had too many! AND IF ANYBODY HAS MAGS THAT DONT WORK SEND THEM TO ME BEFORE YOU THROW THEM AWAY!! I'm a Disabled VET I dont have alot of Disposeable income!

I have 6 of the 30rd CProducts SS mags each with over 200rds through them and no problems but I bought them 5 years ago. I have no Allum. mags except for the 2 Colt 20rd that came with my6920 and a bushy 30rd that sits in a box in the garage. I believe the Brownells and Stoner mags are CProducts as well?

Brownells, no (used to be). Stoner, yes.
Brownells now is the mfg of their own line of USGI mags and received a govt contract.

I don't think C Products ever made Brownells. Some people claim the early Brownells were NMHTG made.

All the Brownells mags I have have always been great performers.

That info came direct from C Products FWIW.
I have used the early and current 30 round Brownells mags w/o any function issues. The earliest ones lacked finish on the interior of the mag bodies.

I am tempted to buy a bunch of the $9.99 CP mags with Magpul followers.
That's a great deal, especially since the MP followers are included. While some folks have brought up issues, I've had good luck with them.
