    I'm not sure why it is being assumed that the barrel is chrome lined. Colt made many unchromed civilian AR barrels. I used to have one.

    I'd send it to Randall at AR15barrels.com and have it looked at. He can put a nice recrown on it.

    Wow, thanks avmech for that link.

    It would appear that it probably is NOT chrome lined if the info there is correct (I suspect that it is). Hmmmm....looks like it may need to be shipped off to a higher power regardless.

    Its a 6520 carbine barrel. They are all chrome lined.

    I have 2 LW barrels marked C MP NATO 1/7 they are both chrome lined. One is on a factory 6520 the other was an upper I bought that was the same except for no bayo lug.

    FWIT - My early 90's HBAR is absolutely chrome lined. The ring is very clear at each end of the barrel. Harold H.
