    Baking Soda

I was thinking about trying to store a fair amount of Baking Soda and wanted to get some info. Besides attracking moisture is there anything else to be concerned with? Is it possible to buy in large quantities (5 gal pail)? Does it ever go bad? In a post SHTF situation the used of this stuff is almost endless. You can brush your teeth, antacid, wash your hair, clothes, mild abrasive, clean wounds, etc. It just seems like it would be handy to have a supply. What do you guys think?

Between vinegar and baking soda, you can clean anything...

It is possible to buy baking soda in large quantities (by the fifty pound sack from these guys - http://www.assocbuyers.com/shop/pc/v...&idcategory=19 )

It won't go bad, per se, but I wouldn't buy more than I could use within the next couple years or so.

what about some of the 5 or 10 lb whatever they are bags at costco ?
that way they are nicely sealed and you can open up what you need when you need and might be easier to store and move and use

I buy it that way but only have one bag at a time

I always keep a good quantity of baking soda around, but not enough for longterm. The Costco-type buy is something I need to do.
I don't see why it couldn't be stored in any size of an ammo can. It would be watertight, durable ect. You may or may not have to rebag it, but then that would make for easier everday use too if it were rebagged into smaller quantities.
