Ive only gone through 1400 rds on one of my NIB Spikes BCG and it has worked flawlessly. Not a lot of ammo through it to say much yet, accept cleaning is faster and easier on the BCG it self, but then there is more cleaning on other parts inside the upper i would say as much of the carbon falls off the BCG into other areas.

The only Data I have seen is from Spikes tactical and they seem to be on top of quality control so far.

I would love to hear what LAV has to say about Spikes????????

Yep, +1. I would go with Spike's no problem. The have had their test data available online for over two years and it meets or exceeds most of the kool aid kid brands.

Because you can't - it adds thickness, and that will often make the parts out of spec. Sadly, this is what a whole lot of the NiB carriers are - out of spec.

I saw someone call NiB "snake oil." I am very sensitive to snake oil. Gain twist - snake oil. Cryo - snake oil. NiB is not snake oil. It really makes for a hard surface finish that is durable, easier to clean, and has more lubricity. BUT - the parts need to be machined smaller before the coating. This is *very* expensive to do because as soon as you make a custom part, the quantities are just for you, and then the price goes up dramatically. Because of this, a lot of the coated parts are just regular parts with the coating, and I would not want that. To reduce the chances of making the existing parts get out of spec, the NiB is being put on thinner than what would be best for extreme corrosion resistance. It is a sad state of affairs.

Hmmm, I'm willing to bet Spikes doesn't have their BCG's made to accommodate the thickness of the coating.

I have had a FailZero BCG I bought 3 years ago. I think I got it from G&R. I'll never spend almost $300 on a BCG again, but I have never had a problem with it either.

I'm with you though, I think NiB has lots of potential, but I don't think anyone is debating that.

Now, sit back and wait for the Spike's fans to scientifically explain how you are just a silly Kool Aid drinker.

Amazing to me how people can't get over what Spikes did in the past, but then Colt gets a pass for all the political correct changes that they have done to their rifles in past. If you own one of these political correct Colt's it's a real pain with it's wrong size pins, cut carriers, sear blocks, different hammers, exposed rear FP, ridiculous carving on the side, etc., etc.

You hit the nail on the head with a HUGE hammer! What you said coupled with the fact that some claim disdain for a make or a product but will sell it regardless because some people do want it, that's fine, nothing wrong with making money, but shows lack of integrity in your word.

What your asking is just what he's asking. Haven't seen a new spikes in a while have you ? Spikes doesn't get that pass though, I guess due to lack of longevity?
