    Colt 7.62x39 AR15 available again CR6762

I was surprised to run across this while searching gun.deals. I searched this site and didn't find anything. In fact, I searched YouTube and didn't find anything regarding this new release. So, there's no real information, but it's something that we literally have not seen in decades. The model number is CR6762.

Colt isn't Colt anymore is it? No telling where the parts are actually from. Looks like chrome lined, 1/12 twist https://thecoltar15resource.com/colt...x39mm-carbine/

It’s disappointing and surprising from a liability standpoint that they didn’t mark the cartridge on the receiver. The barrel profile could be better. That said, it’s been about 30 years since Colt made a 7.62x39 AR15, so I bought one. It will probably never happen again. I’ll post pictures when it arrives and will run the upper on my M16.

Most x39's are 1/10. When they built the Yemen CK-901 they used a big 7.62 bolt head. AR15 upper and .308 sized lower that took AK mags.

ColtCZ doesn't even list them on their website. not really surprising now is that?

I think with CZ buying Colt we're going to get to see alot of cool things that the stale Farts that ran Colt into bankruptcy with their complacency and unwillingness to cater to the Civilian Market would never do. There's alot of really cool things Colt has come up with but never showed the public. I think thats all about to change. CZ knows what they have. One of the most legendary, Historic American Icons in the History of the Republic. My Wifes brother has been with CZ for years and he is heavily involved in all things brand/future wise involving Colt.

I've noticed a big step up in quality of their Colt Government 1911's. Back to series 70 and top notch engraving. There's a long list of firearms people have wanted Colt to make/remake and Colt would have made money hand over fist. CZ/Colt plans to deliver to the Cowboy Action guys, 1911 Guys, Rifle Guys, Retro Guys and be at the front of American firearm manufacturing again. The 14.5" Colt M4's are outstanding. Old Colt would never have done that. I hear a Colt M16A4 clone is coming, A Colt Ainsworth SAA Custer 7th/CAV Replica they talked about for years looks like its coming down the pike too. There's also some serious talk of Colt purchasing a certain US MFG Bullpup that has alot going for it, but has some bugs that need to be worked out. CZ/Colt believes in the Rifle and have the $ to invest, Engineering, manufacturing space and investment to make it something a US Citizen and yes, the US Military would be interested in.

I've also heard that Colt may not be in Hartford in 5 years which is no surprise. I've heard that Tulsa may be the next home for Colt MFG.

You know back in the 80s Colt made an AR in 7.62x39 right?

    Eh, cool...Whatever.

I just don't see the point anymore now that Russian ammo is banned, x39 cost more than 5.56, and 300 Ham'r exists. All that plus goofy, unreliable mags...
