personally just keep the eotech if youre not gonna change over to a H1 aimpoint, the other aimpoints arent gonna be that much lighter. I would just keep it. Aimpoint PRO (11.6oz) with mount is about the same weight as an Eotech 516 (11.9oz)

I'm not going to change it out for a weight savings, but for performance issues. I dislike having to turn on the EOTech, seems like a minor issue but I don't want extra steps when deploying the rifle.

Absolutely why I use an Aimpoint (in my case the T1) because its on 24/7 and every time I deploy it from the car it's ready to go. Only thing could be adjusting brightness as the situation dictates.

Just getting the Redi mag set up off the gun is going to put you a long ways to where you want to go. It certainly did for me.

Best plan. Get a 14.5 with lightweight barrel, if you really want to be amazed at the difference.

I carry the same rifle on duty 12 hours a day, to many days a week. I would never add the aimpoint micro. 4 moa is just not ideal. I use the Comp m4. for a light I run the TLR-2, on the bottom rail. Move the seond mag to your belt. I average 70-72 hours a week, all with my rifle slung. Viking tactics two point sling. It is a little heavy, but well worth it. I like the eo tech as i own the xps, but cant get past the battery replacement and 6 hour on time. My aimpoint comp m4 stays on, and they claim for years and years. I run the magpul CTR stock. Dont worry about what all the fan boys say, use what works for you. Colt is a solid platform, its performed for me for many years.

The 4 moa dot vs the 2 moa dot is a personal preference thing. Personally while I prefer a 2 moa on a red dot I can't see carrying a full size red dot any more. Just a waste of weight. If I am going to carry a full size optic its going to be a low power variable scope like the TR24 I use on my patrol rifle. But that is my opinion. The micro aimpoint makes a lot of sense on carbines primarily to be used inside 100 yards.

Your putting way too much thought into this.

Getting a 16" pencil barrel, and lighter rail system alone will get you to where you want to be faster than getting barrels clipped and pinned.

You have a mono rail, an M4 profile barrel, and hulking eotech, a VFG, bulky stock, and chunky light mount. Then there is that redi-mag.

    Transfer spare mag to belt
    6720 upper
    light weight drop in rail
    KISS VLTOR light mount
    T1 or EXPS

Done. No steroids needed. No re-inventing the wheel.

How is a 4 MOA dot not ideal for you?

And even head-shots at 200 are no problem after some practice.

For me it's my damn astigmatism. The H1/T1 is an awesome RDS but had to sell mine for M4's I also like the AA batteries.
