Lighter fore end...YHM makes an upper with full rail on top and short rails at 9 and 3 o'clock.
I carry mine with a 20 rounder in the mag well. As already posted, that is probably all you need for your work.
I throw a 30 rounder in my sap pocket in case of a malfunction.
Extra mags etc on a vest in trunk, if I have the time to get to them.
Any of the other suggestions will all help.

There are pictures and threads all over the internet detailing how shitty those lowers are. Plum Crazy does not belong anywhere near a duty rifle or any other serious use rifle. I'll go further than most and say that it might be good for a .22......but nothing more serious.

Here's a thread for you to read Simba Lee - https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread...ght=plum+crazy

ETA - funny enough, that's one of the threads that a user gave you not two months ago......in your very own thread involving your DPMS/Plum Crazy rifle. I guess you didn't even bother to read it.

    I'm a cop and here's my advice:

    1) Get a magpul RFG.

    2) Get a TLR-1s (I use this on my patrol rifle and my G21 service weapon; it's GTG for an impact weapon works great on sternums!).

    3) Get an Aimpoint Micro in a DD non-QD mount (Got my T1 w/ mount from Grant)

    4) Perm a flash-hiding product of your choice to your newly-shortened 14.5" barrel (ADCO does great work).

    5) Get a Magpul MBUS rear BUIS.

    6) Ditch the redi-mag. Go w/ a SF 60rd mag or stick w/ a single 30rd. The redimag destroys the utility of the AR as a patrol rifle. Might as well carry a fuggin SCAR-17 if your gonna go heavy. MAYBE try the AL billet model with some lancer 30rd mags if you need two mags. Also consider a go-bag (my preference). It looks like a murse...mine's from maxpedition and carries spare pistol mags for my G21, AR mags, quick-clot, an extra knife, spare radio battery, small snacks, some mini-glass, and other small items. Throw it over your shoulder and ****ING ROLL. Active shooter, confined gunman, remote perimeter spot, you name it....go bag has you covered. Strapping weight to the rifle hinders your ability to fight with it...which is, after all, the entire reason you brought it to the party.

Your gun would feel MUCH lighter with these mods. I wouldn't even bother altering the stock until you take care of the front of the gun. It will feel SO much lighter by taking the weight off the front.

Rather than re-profile your Colt barrel, I think it would be better to just buy a CHF lightweight profile 14.5" carbine gas barrel from BCM/DD that has a FH already perm'd. But, leave the barrel alone for now.

I just had a profound thought about this, wouldn't a heavier stock actually help to counter some of the weight from the longer barrel?

There's not much heavier than a ACS. A UBR is about it.

Yeah but here we have been saying take the batteries out when it might actually help balance the rifle a little better.

I don't think that meets his intent.

A guy at one of our local M4C group shoots earlier this year had one of these lowers. And his gun had lots of problems. I can't say that the problems were caused by the lower. However, it did not instill any confidence in me.
