    Did you read the thread?

These are barrels from Colt armorer's courses that have had the pins removed and replaced several times.

They are junk barrels with jacked up front sight bases and barrel nuts.

Yes, I read the thread. I don't dispute that they're probably junk barrels...

The question is, did you read the thread? He hasn't even tried to install the barrel, yet, or punch the pins in, so my posts stands.

I have to agree. In my experience any used part that has come from any armorer's course (unless it is originally your part) regardless of who is giving the course has been subjected to R&R more times than any manufacturer recommends.

The proper course of action here is to sell off the junk barrel and move on.

Not pour in more money on the junk barrel.

scottryan and warpigM-4 have a good point. You need to figure out what the total cost will be by the time you are done "seeing" if it is any good. It is a judgement call. If you think the pins can be installed tight than keep it. If you have a doubt than sell it and go new. My concern is if the pins are still able to be installed tight than why remove it from the armorer course in the first place if it can still be used to teach.

    Exactly

These barrels were sold off for a reason.

Pinned on FSBs were never intended to be removed.

What I find interesting is that I have never removed an FSB in a Colt Armorer Course. Is this something new?

I was also wondering about this myself as there is no reason why Colt would be teaching this, as low pro gas blocks are not Colt doctrine.

If it makes any difference I don't see any real wear on the barrel as if the FSB was removed multiple times and the pins look fine (unless the pins were replace ever time). Would pictures be of any value at this point?
