Where have you found Mil Spec barrels with M4 ramps?
A couple years ago I bought a Bushmaster barrel with 1:7 twist, 5.56 chambered, M4 feed ramps, 4150 steel, but no F-marked FSB.

At the time, I believe BCM and Saber were selling the same configuration only WITH F-marked FSB.

I put myself in te wait for a BCM 20" upper, and got it in two weeks - and that was only a couple weeks ago, so I'd just wait for that.

The PSA upper has a round hand guard cap [WTF?] on a 20" upper, and Lord knows about the issues with ramp alignment and everything they;ve been doing lately.

Wait for the BCM - it will be worth it in the end.

The barrel is made by FN at their facility here in SC.

I believe the AR Stoner barrels are manufactured by ER Shaw for Midway. The barrels seem to get pretty good user feedback reviews. I have a 20 inch HB in 6x45. Seems pretty good so far but with under 200 rounds through it Im still breaking in the barrel. The specs on their AR barrels look pretty good.
An ER Shaw barrel would never find its way onto one of my rifles. I'm going to leave this one ARFCOM drive by style as I have to run in a minute. I just don't want the OP to jump on this without knowing that the barrel will be a crapshoot.

I also looked around for a second and had a hard time coming up with a standard 20'' barrel that's in stock, besides the one mentioned above. If you don't mind going stainless (heavier weight also) and spending a bit, this will work out nicely. It's a WOA from a Wilson blank. It will outshoot most people. The BCM someone posted above is very similar, except this one is offered with an F marked FSB.

I'm sure a PSA upper would treat you fine.

If it were me though, I would just wait for the BCM one to come in stock. It shouldn't take that long... The wait will be worth it.

The link to the PSA website was to an FN HF barrel, not an upper. So...

Can you please qualify your assertion that the barrels offered by BCM are better than FN's hammer forged barrels...and thus "worth the wait?"

I'm actually laughing about it. Doesn't take a rocket surgeon to understand why.

Before you say something involving black pots and kettles because I did a "drive by" regarding ER Shaw a few posts up, keep in mind that what I said is a commonly known and accepted fact that shouldn't require writing a novel to justify.

YOUR statement, on the other hand, is pretty funny.

Disclaimer: I purchase tons of BCM products. They are of the highest quality. But dear God, let's make sense here.

I was referring to a complete upper assembly. Both lone barrels complete uppers have been discussed. PSA has been known for having some QC troubles.

You wasted a lot of energy typing that post...

We're talking about barrels. Why are you talking about uppers? You're missing the hell out of the point. I'm done arguing with somebody who doesn't even know what they're arguing about. Good luck out there.

That is a very cool barrel. Kind of falls into a no-mans-land of being to long for most high volume carbine class types, not accurate enough for an SPR guns and to expensive for those that don't fall into either of the two previous categories.

Yeah man, you too, have a good one.

I was never arguing by the way, just so you know. I had misunderstood that the discussion was purely about barrels.

But oh well, life goes on.
