I saw one of these the other day at Cabelas. It looked pretty nice but I didn't get a chance to do more than handle it. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/w...egory_rn=33803

I mentioned the twist rate as well. It's amazing that they number of people who still believe that the 1n7 can't shoot the 55gr.
If I don't see certain changes, I won't get one. I just wanted a whole S&W gun for a collector, nothing special, just because. The scope with logo would top it off nicely.
You would think there would be a bit more research as to what people are using and basically, want.

Looks like there has been a bit of a learning curve, which is understandable with a new product.
It's telling that they are willing to listen. I wish they'd listen more (M4 feedramps/ 1:7 twist), but perhaps that will add to the cost?
They had no right to win. Yet they did, and in doing so they changed the course of a war...even against the greatest of odds, there is something in the human spirit - a magic blend of skill, faith and valor - that can lift men from certain defeat to incredible victory.
From a marketing perspective, and after consulting The Chart, it occurs to me that S&W may have decided to stake its niche at the top of "tier two," rather than at the bottom of "tier one" -- sticking with 1:9, etc. Does that theory make sense to those of you who work directly with S&W?
As to the price point, my wife and I stopped by the local Gander Mtn. last night while killing some time, and I checked out M&P 15 prices (as I often do, since I own one):
- M&P 15 - $1,199
- M&P 15A - $1,099
- M&P 15T - $1,799
That's daffy. Although the going rate around here is $200-$300 less, people are paying those prices.![]()

Gander Mountain firearms prices are outlandish. The used stuff is more expensive then new stuff elsewhere. Many buyers there probably never set foot in a regular gun shop so they probably don't now any better. I used to shop at the original Galyan's store and their prices weren't the best. Once they stopped selling handguns I went to the gun shop less than a block away and found much better prices.
But Cabelas is supposedly coming to town so maybe that will strike up some competition...
It seems whenever I ask this question, all I ever hear are crickets chiriping... How do I get rid of those pesky critters and how do I get an official position on this issue from our friends at S&W?
IMHO, this is a pretty important issue. PMAGS are prevalent, no doubt about it. What happens if you get into a situation where your partner tosses you a magazine when you run out and it's a PMAG? Do you ask him for a dremel too, so you can file down the PMAG to get back in the game? Just a note, this isn't really even to address my M&P, I've taken care of it myself. What about the folks who don't know and won't find out until it's too late?
