    at this point we know for sure that the gas tube is either out of alignment or bent. What >i'm< going to do is disassemble the gas block/tube and remove the barrel nut. I'm going to pick up a new mid-length gas tube and roll pin and take it to someone qualified to reassemble it. hopefully my gas key isn't screwed at this point.

    after viewing the video the tube is badly misaligned. looks like the assembler didn't know enough to use plenty of grease and work in the threads to get the barrel nut aligned. Good on MI for taking on another's slop.

    well i can't get the gas block pins to move. i have the right size allen wrench, but i'm guessing he used blue locktite on it. any suggestions?

    Send the entire upper to Robb, or someone you are sure knows what to do. I wouldn't do anything else to it.

    You might want to do like darr3239 suggests and send it to Robb or someone who really knows what they are doing.

    Robb offered to fix it for you at only the cost of shipping.
    To pass on that offer would be a significant error in judgement.
    Robb is the only person I go to with my AR work.
