For me personally I find the QD stops handy on the front end of the rifle/carbine, on the back end it doesn't matter to me. I usually use a Noveske or DD end plate at the receiver anyway. When I do hook my sling to the back end of the stock I hook it to the right side to keep the sling from coming across my neck when switching the stock to my left shoulder.

The STR looks like the Goldilocks stock to me... just right. The CTR is a smidge smaller than I like, the ACS quite a bit bigger. I've been most happy with the SOPMOD, but not the price or the straight vertical butt end. The STR looks almost the same in size and cheekweld, should be equal or better in lock-up with Magpul's friction lock, and the price sounds pretty good. Battery storage is a plus but not really important to me.

If only all felt like you. Most shooters I deal with run some type of plate by the receiver instead of attaching the sling at the stock.

That being said, I understand my bubble is fairly small.

The way I use a sling is "a way", not " the way". I just use a sling the way it works best for me, I'm weird
For long really difficult shots I shoot left handed, I'm left eye dominate and shoot long guns right handed mostly.

I currently have an ACS and I have asked for an STR as a Christmas gift, along with an enhanced recoil pad if I need to make up the difference in length between the ACS and the STR.

I love the ACS but find it heavy and bluky, the ACS-L looks great, but I actually need the battery tubes. Can't wait to try the two stocks out at the range

Stick, you don't happen to have an aerial shot of the STR and the CTR, would you?

I'll get something similar to the above shot for those stocks.
