The name 6920 is on the list. The names 6920CA and 6920MPCA are not on the list.
Colt's legal Dept. has done a lot of research on this issue.
Colt 6920CA lowers here: http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin...&key=6920CALWR
C4
Alot of folks are marketing CA compliant versions but the key here is the name change. The AWB list is permanently set and can not be added to after 2007.
When people generally say CA compliant they mean it either has a bullet button/mag lock...or its featureless i.e. monster-man grip. To sell the 6920 in KA, Colt not only had to do those things but also change the name. A standard 6920 lower is still on the AWB list regardless of the whether you place a bullet button on it or not.
The very fact that a company like Colt or Arsenal can simply rename a product without changing anything to make it legal proves that the KA AWB is a failed and asinine attempt to please the liberal masses. Trust me when I say I can't wait to move back to a free state.

Amen brother. The very fact that a company like Colt or Arsenal can simply rename a product without changing anything to make it legal proves that the KA AWB is a failed and asinine attempt to please the liberal masses. Trust me when I say I can't wait to move back to a free state.
It doesn't do shit, and black rifles are now more popular than ever in CA!
So much so that Calguns even has threads bagging on AR "snobs" and that "my Oly/DPMS/Bushy/Del-Ton is good 'nuff". But better these than threads where people are wishing they could get a black rifle.
Oh, and Grant, you have some incredible patience. (Yeah, I'm talking about that recent Del-Ton thread).

Most gun stores around San Diego sell black rifles like they are going out of style. That said I was turned away from one who refused to do a transfer on a OLL for me. Never mind the fact that all ffl holders in KA are required by law to accommodate all face to face transfers.
Another reason I can't wait to move is the insane markup on black rifles here. On average you will pay 300+ more than if you bought the same weapon in a free state.
Move to Texas! Even Gov Rick Perry packs a pistola!!!![]()
I like many others bought a DPMS as my first AR. I loved it and I felt like I knew it all after my purchase. I had the x is as good as y syndrome and I hate to admit it but I also put a NC Star scope on it and a cheap rail on the carry handle. I was the coolest kid on the block b/c none of my other friends had an AR.
Then I began to familiarize myself with the gun taking it apart and I began to notice small differences in my rifle and the ones posted here by many. That bothered me, so I took it upon myself to research and educate myself about the AR world.
I stopped posting about how great my rifle was and started to read the posts here. I always thought that I knew a great deal about guns and once I shut my mouth and decided to learn from those that knew more than me I had an epiphany. My gun was not as good as I thought. I bought for a fighting rifle but it was really a novelty gun, made to fool the uneducated to make them think that the elite in the armed forces use X rifle.
I sold the rifle and began my quest for a real quality rifle. I decided on a DD M4 V3 and saved for about 3 or 4 months to purchase this rifle. When I held the rifle it felt different and it shot different. I also know that the manufacturer will stand behind this product due to a problem which was fixed w/o charge and they offered many sincere apologies.
Now I am biased in a good way. I am pretty sure when people say, “hey, you spent way too much on that rifle when you could have x rifle for this much cheaper.” I smile and ask if they know about the “chart” or if they have fired more that 1,000 of the cheapest dirtiest ammo w/o cleaning and had any malfunctions in a carbine class. Usually it is an unsure “yea, I shoot all the time.” Some people learn others prefer ignorance.
I read and learn way more than I post here b/c I don’t have the experience that many here do. So thanks again all at M4 for the vast library of knowledge and helping a poor fool see the light.
