I've got a 12" Centurion rail (on a 16" mid barrel), which actually measures 12.5" from rear to front.

2.25" of rail forward of the front of the GB. If you've a true 13" rail, or even slightly longer, you're still good. From the "Included" bullet-points at the bottom of the product page:

You may want to consider the Gen II variant. It doesn't have the detent feature. It uses a spring and check ball captured by a roll pin to index the adjustment screw. You'll still need to reach the adjustment screw but adjustment becomes a one handed operation.

I just got a chance to try out the gen 2 Syrac on my 10.5" 5.56 upper. This is really nice. I found that I could tune it both with and without a suppressor to the point it would eject but not lock back, then open it up one more click and get it to lock back on an empty mag. I was at 5 clicks open suppressed and 8 clicks open not suppressed FWIW. It does shoot a lot smoother, to the point that I'm able to pick up on a little nose dive when the bolt comes forward and returns to battery. I still had an H3 buffer in there, so I think an H or H2 would feel better. Will probably just drop it down to an H2.

And if you're into analyzing ejection patterns, with the optimal setting both suppressed and not it was putting empties in the 4:00 direction. Another thing I did notice about the ejection was that it was more consistent in direction and distance. Maybe that doesn't matter either, but it seems like it just confirms that the cycling is less 'violent'.

ETA: I just realized, these Syrac blocks may be just like G triggers...you're better off not trying them because once you do, you'll want it on everything.

How are you guys adjusting the gas system?
When you establish that the bolt locks back on the last round do you then give it addition one full turn to be reliably across the board when using different ammo?

Video showed a non Syrac/SLR gas block, so overall concept is explained well, but the amount of turns or clicks are specific to the gasblock. Personally, and I may be wrong, I set my gas block (SLR) to lock back on empty, using 223 ammo from various positions including held 1 handed, no shoulder support and leave it there, as HD ammo is 556, generating additional gas pressure.

Correct. What I'm trying to really say is once you get the bolt to lock back are you done or do you give it a exta few clicks (if so how many) for reliablilty for ammo. I've been using PMC Bronze which is called "weak" since it does not have the velocity of 5.56 I'm getting 2850-2900 FPS

No extra clicks. I rely on fact that its tunes to 223, such as you state, and have 556 ammo loaded for HD.
I use the carbine for 3G matches, often with 223 ammo, and no issues so far. Cannot fault someone someone for an extra click out for additional confidence it will lock back, but unlike guy in video, I tested at least 8 times with 1 round in mag, various holds/shooting positions, without failure to lock back on my setting. Will try again in winter to see if I need an extra click or 2.

Quantifying how much 'extra' to give it depends on a lot of things, including where you are in the adjustment range on any particular block. I have no scientific evidence related to any adjustable gas blocks, but I can tell you that most valves do not have a linear response. You'll typically see a lot more effect from one unit of movement (a click in this case) when you're close to fully closed as compared to fully open, or even half open. Just something to keep in mind.

Exactly. One click from wide open might cut gas 5%, whereas one click from a lower setting could cut flow in half.
