Unhappy I keep having to kick my friend's butt over Remington

A friend of mine keeps talking about getting a Remington AR15 or AR10 even though he has 3 Colts. When I try to explain the quality differences, his brain shuts down because he seems unable to handle the technical talk. So now I have resorted to telling him he will get what he pays for. But I know one of these days he is going to drive down to Sportsman's Warehouse and buy a Remington.

At least he has the Colts to fall back on. It would be much worse if the Remington was going to be his one and only AR.

I don't think Colt makes an ar-10. If he's going that route and he's going to be using it for hunting he won't be putting too many rounds down it so it should hold up just fine. JMHO

I have a buddy who would not show up to a match with his 6920 because he has a ncstar fake acog on it! So he brings an ak with a 15 dollar rail and a fake surefire M900. It literally breaks in his hands after the 2nd shot! He now wants to buy Caa stuff for his Ar because of all the good reviews and with their lifetime warranty he can just return it! He will not listen to me! So i now encourage his purchases' and laugh as i beat him by great margins, having fun, reliably and trouble free with my "high dollar" gear!

The only company that makes the AR-10 is Armalite. AR-10 is an Armalite trademark

I'm all for buying high quality guns, but as long as the user defines his role, if they want to use a lesser rifle and it fits in there usage, the cheaper rifle may be a good call. Would an R-25 be an appropriate choice for a Vickers Battle Rifle class or a DMR course? Or as the go-to for a SHTF gun? Absolutely not.

But for a hunter looking for a auto-loading alternative to a Remington 700? Good to go in my opinion.

I just dont get the reasoning behind this. Every gun I own is expected to pull "Go To" duty if need be.
