    M4 feed ramps *HELP*(pics included)

My M4 feed ramps are apparently not machined right.
9/10 rounds are getting pushed into the casing, and upon further inspection, i *think* thats what's happening.
    Sorry for the bad pics...

this is what the rounds look like after trying to feed into the chamber:

I haven't been able to find anyone here in Vegas who seems as knowledgeable as all of the great people on this site, any suggestions?
How much would it cost to get something like this fixed?
I got the upper from a friend, and just want to get it fixed.
pretty much ruined my day at the range

    gotm4 -
    thanks for asking...

Bushy upper with heavy barrel, bushy BCG marked "CM"

    brand new pmags

standard vltor modstock with the spring and buffer it came with...

BTW, this happened *without* ever actually firing a round down range.
it started the first time a tried to load a round...

Interesting. If you can't find anyone local, I'll look at and test the upper for free on a known good lower of mine.

I would suggest a very good cleaning, the use of a H buffer and to check your buffer spring length (to make sure it's within spec).

    trouble

We just had a problem similar to this, we were trying to run a rifle class in our indoor range and we used Frangible Ammo (Sorry I do not know the maker). After NUMERous malfunctions, where rounds would not feed and it seemed like they were crashing into the receiver and not feeding. By the way this did not happen with Federal XM193 in the same gns on the same day in our single lane rifle trap. When we compared the case length of the crappy non-feeding frangible ammo to the XM193 I noticed the XM193 cases were longer. I do not know how much longer, but they were longer at least an 1/8".

TRY this. Compare your above ammo to a known QUALITY not reloaded ammo.

If not you did not waste any time or $.

Take Robb up on his offer.

    I hope I added something.

ammo is M855 and when checked against other rounds, it's the same length.
all the ammo from the same box works flawlessly in my 16" upper.

    Thanks!

*EDIT* i'll be sending to Robb next week!

Yes it is. Dano just accurately described everything that is wrong with your rifle. Even if you ignore the feedramps, look at the huge machining marks in the barrel extension.

If I were in your position I'd call Bushmaster and ask them to step in.

Call butchmaster and see if they will replace it- Even if they replace it, you will always have this taste in your mouth, so you may just want to switch brands- Even a CMT/Stag upper doesn't look like Helen Keller got her hands on a dremel tool.
