Forgive me. I clearly have much to learn, young grasshopper.
The only reason i said it wasn't helpful, is because i allready
talked to gotm4, and he said he'll look at it for me.
I guess all the posts in this thread weren't read.
    Thanks.

LMAO! You're right. I got the upper from a friend, and did not purchase directly from bushy. You think they'll still do something about it?

If a third party did that terrible thing to the barrel, Bushy won't do anything. They should be under no obligation to.

I would ask my friend for a full refund.

    [EDIT]
After looking at the pictures more, I'm pretty sure I know what happened. Someone tried to install a barrel with no extended feedramps into an M4 cut upper receiver. After seeing that it wouldn't feed they did a "bubba" dremel job to the barrel extension.

Agree with above post, appears to be an attempted reprofile of a non-M4 feedramped barrrel into an M4 feedramp.

Interesting. Could you describe the stoppage for us, as this is not something that I have ever come across personally.

What was impeding the cartridge? Was the nose of the bullet smashed into the feedramps, above the chamber, below the feedramps?

Curious as to what problems this kind of "gunsmithing" does.

    Thanks

The reason the bullets are getting pushed up because they are hitting the steep edge in those home made M4 ramps. You can clearly see where the rifle ramps were "modified"

    Photo comparison

    Guys,
Can someone pull the above pics and put them next to similar pics of a proper feed ramp view?

I am picture impaired. However, I think pics say a 1,000 words and could help.

I'd appreciate it if someone can.

    Thanks,
    Jack

Bushmaster calls their ramps "M2" or some such, which indicates to me that they are NOT to the same spec as M4.

Funny.. I normally don't post in "troubleshooting" threads cause there always like a Paul Harvey story.

I start to read this one and after the poster describes his problem he never mentions the make and model (my first thought was who's upper /BCG is it...)

after some one asks.. he tells... (my next thought is (did you buy it or build it)

then he post's that he did not buy it, but got it from a buddy....

and so now the mystery is solved..

you bought a used upper from a buddy who butchered it with a dremel to add something you don't need.. and now it works like crap... there's a lesson in there for anyone who want's to read it....

and now you know.... the rest of the story...

Sorry Pitbull.. nothing on you.. your story just illustrates a good point why the AR has gotten such a bad rap over the years.. your story gets repeated every day on other sites....

Those are definitely some interesting looking feed ramps. A swift kick in the nuts for the asswipe that did these would most definitely be in order. Passing this hack job onto another shooter would be worth another boot to the nuts as well.

Nothing new here, but you can run a pencil tip up the ramps to find burrs and the overhang that's catching on the rounds...look at all that shaved paint in the chamber.

I'm in Vegas, and have factory installed ramps, if you wanted to compare visually. I'm NOT a 'smith so you should still send yours out for inspection
