It irritates me beyond what I'm going to type that the dispatcher took it upon themselves to tell the boy to not shoot anymore. Seems like every time there is a situation like this the dispatchers always say the same thing - to not shoot. The dispatchers will be in contact with the cops as they get there & could tell the kid when the cops get there & when they are coming in & to not fire on them. But when there are bad guys still around potentially, & the cops aren't close? Come on...

What the heck else is someone supposed to do when someone breaks into their house? Just stand there & let them do whatever? Just because the dispatcher says so?

I totally agree!!! If he would have hesitated because of the dispatchers orders and died because he lost the initiative, their blood would have been on the dispatchers hands. I wonder how many times it hasn't worked out because of dispatch protocol.

I am glad the boy seems to have a good head on his shoulders and he protected his sister like boys should.
