    600 yard Head Shot.

Pappabear got cocky on Monday and called a 600 yard head shot with his Rem 700 308 5R. The head on this steel is like 6"X8"

Nice shooting... I wish I could get to shoot beyond 200 yards.

Nice shooting. I just finished a 4 day precision rifle course earlier this month. I can appreciate what it takes to make a 600 yd head shot. (I'm not there yet.)

Here is the head from my qualification target. The box is 3"x4.5".
A single cold bore shot from 100, 200, 250, and 300 yds. No spoilers allowed. It's nothing like your 600 yd shot....but I'm working towards it.

And your answer back to that shot was. . .? J/K

    That's some fine shooting!

Finally got the scope mounted on my 700 SPS AAC. I hope to get it out on the range next weekend. I just wish I had wide open areas to shoot like you guys have in AZ!

When he made the shot in one try.... I didn't even try to match him.

I'd either hit it too... or dump 15 rounds trying and end up pissed off.

I can shoot FA off my patio. But not anywhere near 600 yds. Wish I could. Very nice shot!

I feel you. I'm so envious of guys that live out in the mid west. here in S. FL there's no place to shoot long distance. For me to get to my 1000y range its takes about 3 to 3.5 hours. Even then the range past 565y is a narrow swath about 30 feet wide or so with about 20 foot berms on both sides, and that swath goes all the way to 1000y. The wind swirls in that tunnel so to speak so sometimes its a PITA to get accurate shots on paper or steel. To top it off there's no backing so when one misses you get no feedback. It's frustrating sometimes.

Again, you guys out west have it great for shooting.

It helps a lot to have a spotter with decent glass to watch the vapor trail and call corrections.
