handheld lights with push-through switching

I thought there might be others that were also interested, and others still that are more into lights than me and could help populate the list.

Let's stick to CR123-powered lights for now. If you know of any, please post a link.

To clarify, what I'm looking for is lights that come on at a lower brightness with a light pressure on the switch, and higher brightness when pressure is increased. Not an incremental increase, just low then high. Also, with these kinds of lights, I'm curious about locking them "on" if possible and how that is accomplished with a particular light (hard click, turn bezel, etc.).

Rob I have both of those lights and they work great for plainclothes work. I'm not sure of anyone else making the push-through end caps but any time I venture away from SureFire I regret it.

Just a heads up though they discontinued the L1 so if you find one you need I would pick it up. I spoke with a SureFire rep and they will still work on them but they will not be making more.

The Surefire Aviator has it too. I don't know if Surefire has a patent or something because I don't know of any other lights with the specific switch type you're talking about. I wish it was more popular because it's my favorite UI by far. My buddy has an old Blackhawk Gladius that goes between strobe and constant on with a push through switch. I'm not sure if it's available or programmable as a dual output.

It does appear that they are the only ones. Interesting with all the programming that the import lights go through this isn't something they can accomplish.

I've had a SF M1 for a few years. It is a great little light and lives near my bedside and is one of the lights I take camping and when I fly/vacation. It replaced/upgraded my old E1. I didn't know about the different levels of output by twisting the end cap!

Looking at the descriptions in your links above the LX2 looks like the winner with a good balance of size and power.

Surefire owns the patent on that ui. The surefire az2, vampire, and krona have the same function.

I have been looking into upgrading my z2 recently with a new led drop in and a 2 stage mode, and I think this is the best ui for a combat flashlight, but I'd rather drop $40-70 on an led drop in than $200+ for a new light that has an inferior led but a better 2-stage function.

Edit: I just noticed the 6px tactical has the same function. I really wish someone (even surefire) would sell just the tailcap for one of these because I'd rather use an original 6p or z2 and get more out of the light with an aftermarket led but have a low option.

This is actually exactly what I'm not looking for.

I want push-through, not double-click. Hope this makes sense.
