A big thanks to Tactical & Outdoor Wear for the door prizes. If you need 5.11, Woolrich, Under Armor, Oakleys etc give them a call 910 892-0187.

    Amp,

Thanks to you and everyone who put on a fun match. 6 stages of fun! I'll be sure to come to all the others to follow!

Here is a picture of my buddy with those cascading targets. Both of us were not quite fast enough but it gave us something to think about and train for.

I'm glad you enjoyed the match, you both did great. I think that cascading target sped up as the day went along!

    See you next month.

Total Newbie here. Have a few questions about IDPA.

Im guessing you must be an IDPA member to participate in these events. I see the membership fee for that is $40. How much does each match typically cost for entry fee?

How long does the entire match last? All day?

How much ammo are we talking for a single days worth?

I read some of the rules, and it talks about 10 round magazine limit. Also read about mags must be loaded to capacity, and you cant drop mags to the ground with ammo in them. Does this mean Hi-Cap mags would be out of play? Can't load the 13 round mag with just 10 rounds?

Just trying to get an idea on what we're talking about for investment. I have 2 friends and all three of us are interested in joining in on the fun.

We watched the videos from your last match and were instantly excited to participate.

    Located in Wilmington.

    Thanks for any help/advice!

    Andy

You don't have to be an IDPA member to shoot the local matches. If you like the matches I encourage to join IDPA to support the organization though as member fees is the source of revenue that keeps it going.

    Match fee is $15.00.

We start registration at 9:00 and begin shooting at 10:00. Depending on the participants, we are usually done by 2:00.

    120rds should be plenty.

You can use your standard (high) capacity mags and only load 10 in them.

There is a match this Sunday at Buccaneer Gun Club in Wilmington. I think their registration starts at 8:30. Lon Layton is the contact guy there. lon@l-systems.com

I hope you can make it up to our match next month, it will be worth the trip, be sure to look me up.

After the main match, we will have a B.U.G.(backup gun) match. We will shoot the course of fire with B.U.G.s. 6 stages with reloads required. Bring a holster as you will have to draw your weapon (no shoulder or crossdraw holsters). Bring 100rds for the B.U.G. to be safe. This should be an eye opener with the little guns. Side match fee is $10.00.
