Even though I'm definitely getting a 2 MOA T-1 I won't be getting rid of my 4MOA T-1. I've got a SBR coming and I'm planning on mounting one or the other on it. Why take a bath on selling the 4 MOA when I can still put it to great use.
To my eyes, I couldn't tell much of a difference. And I've never seen anyone at a class or a match shoot more accurately with a 2 moa dot than a 4 moa. I guess the ONLY advantage is if you're using a magnifier.
"There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."
I don't completely understand the advantage of a 2 MOA dot over a 4 MOA dot on a RDS, either. Just like you, the only advantage I see is that it might be more accurate if I decided to use a magnifier also. But if I needed magnification, I would just invest in a variable power scope instead.
I have done side by side comparisons between an Aimpoint M4 2 MOA and my Aimpoint T-1 4 MOA and I could not tell a functional difference.

I (apprehensively) went from a 2MOA to to 4MOA and I've only shot with the 4MOA twice (once to sight in and for groups, once in a match), but, I don't see a good reason to go with a 2MOA dot.
Given the trajectory of a 5.56 from a 14.5-16" barrel, a 4MOA dot makes a lot of sense... But a 2MOA dot is just about as easy to use anyway so I guess it's a wash.
I know for me, the smaller the dot, the less distortion is created by my astigmatism.
This would be about the only reason I would consider switching to the 2MOA dot, but realistically I still don't get enough distortion to adversely impact my shooting at the distances I use a red dot for. Plus, I have corrective lenses for my shooting glasses.
4 MOA works for me. I'm using this optic for out to 100 meters and in. I use the 7-8 power setting-- no difference I can see between the 4 MOA and a 2 MOA.
