Enough polktics for a minute, Remington 700 question

Moderators feel free to move this if you want

I have a Remington model 700 BDL with a longrange stock. Any of you guys have experience installing a new trigger and a Magpul magazine well?
Should i use a gunsmith or do it myself? Its a 30 06 if that matters.

I do know how to spell politics

I've installed drop-in triggers in two 700's. It was very easy; by memory easier than an AR-15 trigger installation. I think they were Timney units but I sold the rifles several years ago and don't remember 100%.

No experience on magazine well installation.

Yes. It's easy enough that even I was able to do it in a few minutes without cursing.

Like others have said the trigger is easy. The mag well is going to be dependent on which stock you have.

Your thread's dead? It seems alive and well to me.

If the Magpul mag well is designed as a direct no-mod replacement for BDL bottom metal, then it should be a simple couple minute operation. I'd be quite surprised if it doesn't require at least some inletting, and inletting by hand with chisels, Dremel, and other basic tools is not what I'd call simple.

The trigger is simple. It probably took me about as long to type this post than it took the last time I installed a Timney in a 700. TriggerTech should also be seriously considered.

I briefly browsed through Magpul's site but didn't see a mag well offered for a Remington 700......so I'm not sure what you're actually asking.
