That idea is fully retarded and really hurts the credibility of the EOtech line. Maybe like Patriot said maybe they should have done something useful.

Off topic but what if they put in a motion sensor that automatically turned the unit on when you pick it up. Then you could leave it always on in a power saving mode and it would be ready to go when you picked it up.

    That idea isn't half bad.

Pretty sure its a joke, Gearscout is helping them with it. As you can see in this one, on the side they show, if its EXPS it should have the buttons on the side, but the Gearscout one shows now buttons on the back therefore its EXPS.

Brick in bum syndrome, with a touch of no sense of humor.

Looks like fun. Nothing to need a tampon over.

It came out in a pre-SHOT email, along with their "as seen on Call of Duty" magnifier combo (along with their "first ever light-integrated 870 forend, guess they never heard of Surefire).

There are also pictures form Media Day looking through the optic showing the reticle. Can't find them right now.

If it's a joke, more than Gearscout is "helping" them.

and Hogue is making zombie grips.

You know how I know this stupid shit jumped the shark? manufacturers are on-board with it.

It always amazes me how people who are supposed to be the smarter more mature "tech" side of the AR world can get so wrapped around their axles over stuff that really doesn't matter.

It's marketing. Zombie is the new Tactical. Green/Yellow is the new Black/Multicam. If you don't like it don't buy it. They are out to make money and Dead Head sells.

Honestly I can see where your coming from but I don't need my equipment to embody my sense of humor. I'm actually a big fan of the EXPS line but L3/Eotech still has some ways to go on their products to make them better. I'd love to see them take over market share from Aimpoint. It's sad to see them going down the airsoft/Spikes Tactical road instead of improving their products*. I guess you could be right though. Now people who want to match their zombie ammo and other zombie accouterments with a zombie reticle can buy one of these and get all kinds of big laughs from people at the range who still think zombie shit is hilarious. I truly hope they make a lot of money on this and use it to incrementally improve their serious products.

*For instance pretty much every phone has a motion sensor that can tell when you pick up the phone. It seems like it would be easy for a talented engineer to put one in an Eotech so I could turn it on and forget about it like I do my Aimpoint. The optic could stay in a low power state with the reticle off and save its battery. Then when I move the weapon the sight knows I might want to use it and turns on the reticle. I dunno just spitballing here.

I am so sick of this as an excuse for shit product design, aggressive social media pushes, etc. Is this designed to sell stuff to the Romper Room set? Obviously. Does it mean it's a good idea from anything OTHER than that? no. Does it mean we can't make fun of it/them? no. Should they be mindful about alienating people that consider themselves more serious-minded about their guns & gear? of course. Do I think they care? no, because the Romper Room set is where the whole industry is shifting anyway.

Too distracting for me. I like a clear reticle.

Disappointing that companies are doing this.

My take on it is good for Eotech, hopefully. If it sells more sights for them and they make a profit I'm happy.

And maybe, just maybe at some gun shows this will sell over some tasco/ncstar crap. And that is always a good thing to get money to a good manufacturer over bottom bin junk.
