Well I give them points for creativity, and it did make me laugh, and I generally can't stand Eotechs. And it is marketing, I am sure, something that will sell because people find it neat. I would also guess since Aimpoint does seem to get a lot of press anymore, someone at Eotech thought this would get them some press and get Eotech on people's mind. As far as zombies go, its something that people find amusing, I know I have threatened to build a Zombie rifle doing it all in black and green just because. I suppose I am in the camp that there is a time to be dead serious and a time when you should step back and have a laugh and some fun.
Don't get me wrong, I like zombie stuff. I like the Walking Dead show, Dawn of the Dead, zombie movies, etc., and I've been into it for years. I just don't want my gear covered in it because I feel that putting sci-fi fantasy-esque decorations onto defensive tools and other gear takes away from the seriousness and meaning that those things have.
I guess some companies need gimmicks to compete. Having said that, I doubt that the biohazard reticle is unusable. Maybe not as functional as their standard reticle, but serviceable I'm sure. Or maybe it's just as useful. I don't know.
For those saying a motion sensor would be a good idea, wouldn't the thing be constantly coming on if it was on a patrol rifle riding around in a car?

i wouldnt say that, i mean you have to look at it from a business stand point, they arent marketing this to the government or military, they are doing this because its in thing with gun ownered right now and there is a huge market for zombie stuff, so they answered this with their scope.
eotech isnt the only one either, hornady has their ammo and leaupold has their scope as well, its just another way to make money which lets face it, its what business is all about.
this in no way affects eotech, hornady, or leaupold and it in no way makes them a bad company, its strictly business
i mean why is that when something like this thats supposed to be fun and a collector thing comes out we get all defensive calling it trash and a gimmick, why are we so serious, have we forget how to accept something designed for todays fads?

I understand that it's just business, but it is still a gimmick. I don't begrudge them making money. If they didn't make money they wouldn't stay in business. It's just a direction I never would have expected them to go as a serious company. Or Otis cleaning kits. Or Leupold. Or Hogue. However, times aren't the greatest (financially) and there are lots of businesses out there (not just in the firearms industry) doing things that they've never done before to make a profit. At least none of these companies have much $$$ tied up in R&D for this stuff so that when the zombie fad ends they can simply cease adding the special zombie logos and be right back to where they were before.
