    +1 to this,

Run your a2 or whatever came with the weapon. Take some classes or work on stance, grip I.e fundamentals, that's what's gonna increase your "speed/accuracy". With out running your rifle and working on the fundamentals the comp will not help

I used the battlecomp for a while, but stopped using it because the recoil on AR15's are honestly quite negligible and the muzzle blast was getting a little annoying to the people around me.

A comp will not make you a good 3 gun shooter, likewise a comp is probably necessary to really be competitive nowadays. My favorite comp has always been Benny Hill's Rolling Thunder but I've used the JP Bennie Cooley Comp with a lot of success. The Miculek is the best value.

Comps on an AR do not really reduce recoil so much as reduce gun movement. They will enable you to shoot faster if you are up to it.

But always remember Bennie Cooley won a Nationals without a comp (albeit a while ago). It is far less important than technique, skill, experience and a good trigger.

There are others out there also. A very cost effective comp is the Miculek comp. It sounds to me that you understand that these will not make you shoot better, they simply shoot flatter. Good luck.

Thank you Matt for actually answering the question and not jumping on the "train to become a better shooter" band wagon. I completely agree but 15 different people don't need to say the same thing. He gets it.

And for what it is worth...I have a BatleComp 1.0 and 1.5 pinned. I love them both. There are lots of videos out there of them too. For what you are looking for it fits the bill pretty darn well. Happy Shopping!

I like the battle comp, it's a good combination of flash suppression and compensation. For pure compensation I like the Surefire MB556k, just don't use it on a short barrel. I think they would both be good investments for your application and a used BC can usually be found in the marketplace.

I've been using the AAC non-mount brake. good piece or equipment. Muzzle blast is mild comparatively and it is shooting flatter. I like the pig nose look of it, keeping the muzzle device short matters to me for some reason. While I have managed to get some good muzzle flash out of it, it's nowhere near any other dedicated comp. I've never seen flash in my line of sight.
