    DeLisle Carbine: anyone shot it?

This has peaked my interest for some time now: a near-silent WW2 commando weapon used by British special forces. The suppressor is integral, along with a ported barrel. Working the bolt is actually louder than firing the carbine! Valkyrie Arms is making a replica version, since they were so rare even from the beginning. By the Vietnam War, it was almost quaint.

Has anyone had any experience at all with one? I know this is a long shot, but I'd be interested in acquiring an original. Thanks!

Val came by our table years ago at a gunshow and was talking about making these but I never saw her finished product.

A friend of mine (Tom Denall, TDM Manufacturing) makes a Silent Destroyer based on a Ruger 77/44 that I've always considered a modern, improved DeLisle. My spring piston air rifle is louder than it is and it's my favorite suppressed firearm. I imagine the DeLisle would be similar.

Here is a video someone posted on You Tube firing his:

At a machinegun shoot I got to play around with the Delisle cabine pictued below. Very cool. Recoil is non-existent, sights are pretty rudimentary; however, it is very quiet and a unique piece of history. But, it is heavy and bulky for what it is: a 7-shot bolt action suppressed carbine.

It's got CDI and wow factor in spades, though, and that, along with historical significance, is the only real reason for owning one I can see.

...the DeLisle is considered by many to be the most effective firearm of its type ever produced.
What type is that? Suppressed .45 bolt-action carbine seems to be a pretty small niche.

I forget all the specifics, but awhile ago century was selling a unsuppressed version. Basically, there was a company that made up a bunch of conversion kits to make these, and when they went out of business century bought them and made up some. I was able to cherry pick mine out of about 8. I don't know as I would have owned any of the other ones. I got it expressly to have Tom Denall make into a delisle as I have shot his destoryer. After having it for a few years I ended up selling it. Just never made it high enough on the projects list, and it was a mighty heavy rifle for a 7 shot .45 acp rifle.

All that being said my example was accurate, fun to shoot, and reliable.
