Mark made that chart, it was pretty cool. You could overlay your reticle and every dot would line up. You twisted up the turret and they tracked as they should. Good to know they actually do what they say they are doing.

Its makes you aware of how much those reticles actually travel.

    Mark,

For those of us not as optically versed can you explain what we are seeing here and the conclusions you drew from your test?

I will be picking up an LMT MWS in the next couple of months with the intent to employ it in a semi-auto precision role.

I have begun reading on optics to mount on the MWS and have been leaning toward Nightforce and their NXS line, but the price tag of the Bushnell offering is certainly attractive.

    Thank you!

I have never seen that before, but I assume it is used to track Mil/Mil scopes.

A mildot reticle will measure perfectly, that is easy to mfg. But to build a scope that , turret that you rotate it , one mil and the bullet goes up one mil, that is what we were checking. We kept the crosshairs on the bottom crosshairs on target and walked it up via the turret to see if 4 mil's raised the POI 4 mils.

That is how you check to see if your scope is tracking correctly. You have to have guns that shoot pretty well, and shooter has to do his job. Pulled my last shot left, then reshot it to see if it was good to go. (see top left dot). I hope that helps.

Nice! How do you like the Bushnell? I have been hearing some good things about that glass over the last few months.

I play around shooting long range and I use the 3-12 and 4-24 Bushnell elites FFP they are great scopes they hold their zero well even when riding around all day on a 4wheeler. They track very well and the glass to my tired eyes is better than Leopolds. I would like to see other reticles in their line up. I have boxed tested all 3 that I own and they all tracted almost perfectly which I can't say for my wife's more expensive scope. Looking at the target it shows that Bushnells tracking and reticle are just as accurate as the nightforce that was used which is saying alot

The Bushy' is nice. Mark has liked it. He just texted me that he had 150 rounds of 308 cooked up. So he has been the loading bench all day. The Bushy is well respected by folks on the Hide where many glass snobs reside. . Try to stick with the 30mm tubes for best of their best.

You can buy those targets , I think Horus sells them and I expect others as well. People do a " box drill" as mentioned above. They are spends targets. but you only need one per scope every six months or so.

It's not that hard. I used a quarter for the mil dots. The center of the dots just has to be 3.6" from one to the next... 5 mils is 18".

We were only 5 yards short of 100, and you could tell very easily when you matched the reticle up to the target.

For whatever reason, we both shot left of the mil dots... but the scopes tracked very well. We want to tracke them for 6 or more mils next time.

The bushnell is pretty good.... still getting used to it though..... and I need a 20 MOA base to get to 1000 yards.
