The NSR 13.5 turned out to be a perfect excuse to cut and pin my brake. Just got it back from ADCO with a SF MB556K and NSR on it, and it's beautiful.
I'm 5'11", but I have short, T-Rex arms, and can still comfortably reach to the end of the rail...though about 2" back is more comfortable and allows me to mount sight & light forward of that so that my thumb can comfortably get behind them--this was always an issue with my old 11" TRX-E rails (that and trying to mount-move-remount-repeat the rails as I laid under the rail trying to balance everything). ;o)
In the spirit of the lightweight rail, I traded my STR for a CTR (though I may go back to an LMT/B5, which are almost the same as a CTR), ditched my EXPS for a T-1 (though after using a T-1 for 6 months, going back to EOs was weird anyway--a super fast reticle had become a bit too busy for me), and moved the TLR1 off for a GS mount with a 1xCR123 230lm.
The rifle's lost a pound or so (now if I could just lose 30, all would be right with the world).

Pics as soon as I get everything together (first post).

ETA: Okay, now that I've had a chance to install the rails, I can confirm, some rails are thumb-breakers...I thought people just had weak hands ("I just can't get the last round in the magazine"), but I had one handstop (small rail cover) that took 4 or 5 minutes to get on. I have a feeling that with a mallet and other tools and stuff, it could have been easier--can't wait for someone to discover the "easy-on" method.

It appears Grant has them in stock.

Select 13.5" from the pull-down menu. If you've never bought from Grant before be assured he's top-notch.

Installed one of the 13.5" Handguards and its a work of art....very well made! I do wish that they'd make mention of the anti rotation pin in the instructions.

The panels are designed to be tight and stay put during hard use, so installation can be a bit tough. The best method is to heat up (hair drier or heat gun, avoid a torch) the panel, this makes it easier to install. A non marring tool like a small wooden or plastic block to apply pressure or give a few taps is a big help.

wahoo95 ain't kiddin'. He installed my rail and once its on the rifle it's clear that it is well thought out. The front end is very light and nimble feeling unlike when I was running a stock SWS quad rail with a light, VFG and rail covers. That thing was like swinging a tank around. This set up seems to be faster in the hand (only initial impression, have to put it on a timer to be sure). Light weight, rock solid, minimalist spartan design. It's great.

ok, so I ordered a rainier billet upper with the hole above the gas tube port for the anti-rotation pin. Now, how do I get the pin. I understand that Noveske is not shipping the NSR rail w/ a pin. I emailed Noveske but have not heard back.

I have several slave pins for a Geissle triggers, the diameter should be .154. Will they suffice?

UPDATE: My bad, I was mistaken. It appears that it comes with the pin. Thanks for the quick replies.
