Help me pick a sight for my first AR...

Im new to the game and need some advice picking a RDS for my 6920. The general consensus seems to be aimpoint or EOTech. I was looking at the aimpoint pro. What specific models would you recommend? I would love to keep the price <$500.

Price isnt a huge deal, but i dont need anything too crazy either. I plan to take a few training courses with the gun to learn the platform, but it is not for duty use...maybe some 3-gun down the road. Thanks.

If I were you, I would find the model that you like and try to bid on a used one from ebay. People are always changing their mind on optics and you can be there waiting for a good deal. I have had better luck on ebay as opposed to gunbroker/auction arms for optics.

Aimpoint c3 is a great optic if you do not need nv, but it is not much more for an h1 if you would prefer a smaller optic. I have an h1 and t1 and love them both.

+1 on buying your first optic used. I tried out a few optics on my 6920 before finding "the one" that suits my needs best.

Avoid ebay for stuff like this. Ebay is full of fakes so unless you're an experienced ebayer, its easy to purchase dubious products. sometimes that extra $20 it costs elsewhere purchaces peace of mind. I'd rather you check out the Equipment Exchange because chances are much higher you're getting the real deal.

I wouldn't say avoid, rather make sure you are buying what you are looking for. If it is to good to be true, it probably is. As always, read feedback. There are other place such as equipment exchange that are good as well. I think a h1 sounds good for what you want. I have a comp m4 and wouldn't trade it for any other red dot.
