    Remington 700 SS 5R 300WM Project

I have had this gun for 3 years and finally got a scope for it.

    Specs:
    Remington 700 SS 5R MilSpec in .300WM

    Sent to GA Precision for:
-Barrel, cut, crown, thread, Badger Thruster install.
    -Badger Bolt Knob Install
    -Heavy Duty CNC-cut Recoil Lug

    Trigger: Timney 51716 (Straight Trigger/Nickel Plated/Awesome)
I did the trigger myself. Very easy install, came with easy to understand instructions.

    NightForce 20 MOA Base
    NightForce UL 30mm Rings

Leupold Mark 4 ER/T 6.5-20X50mm First Focal Plane TMR w/M5 Mil Turrets

Coating done by Walter Birdsong in Green-T/Black-T

*Bipod for display and cleaning only.

Shooting it Saturday. I'll be using Federal Gold Medal 190gr. Sierra BTHP. Updates after shooting.

I have the FTE on a .308 and it's a sweet brake, bet that Thruster tames the WM.

The installation of the Thruster comp looks SUPER clean. I wonder how much of that was the installation or the coating. Looks great either way!

What stock is that on there? Any plans for upgrading the stock? I'm leaning towards a McMillan A-5 for my 700.

Pappabear has the AAC two chamber brake on his 5R 300 WM. Works great....

I think he's got a pink Springco in there however!

It's so clean you can't tell where the Thruster ends and barrel begins. Here's a pic before the coating when on:

IIRC it's an HS Precision stock with full internal aluminum bedding block that comes OEM on the gun. No plans to upgrade the stock as of now, as long as it shoots. I have an AI 2.0 on my .308... It's hard to spend 1K on a stock. I do plan to paint this stock eventually.

Maybe markm will let me try out his Salmon-colored SpringCo

You still might skim bed it. We shot Pappabear's 5R SS with the green stock for 500 rounds or so. When the smith pulled the action out, you could see where the hold that the action screw go in were egging out.... even with a full, heavy torque value on them.

I do plan to do that, especially after reading those AAR's you guys did. I'm just not in a rush to send it back out.
