? for LEOs carrying fixed blades in uniform

For the second year in a row I will be presenting my Spontaneous Attack Survival for Law Enforcement Course at the International Law Enforcement Educators & Trainers Association Conference in Chicago in APR.

This year I am adding a short block on carry options for fixed blades and folders for uniformed personnel. I would appreciate any ideas or pictures anyone can share. Thanks in advance- George

I had a kydex sheath made for my CRKT Bear Claw. Good "weapon retention" knife but the stock sheath is completely unusuable. The new one has industrial velcro on one side and is secured behind my asp baton, so it rides between my asp sheath and uniform pants. Very secure and extremely fast to deploy. I will post some pics when I get the chance.

My agency allows us to wear our body armor in an outer carrier that matches our uniform shirts. I also use an old set of Uncle Mikes suspenders on my duty rig.

I carry a Benchmade 140 Nimravus handle down in a kydex sheath, secured to the right strap of the suspenders under my vest and outside my uniform shirt. The vest helps keep it secure in the sheath, but allows for an easy draw with either hand.

If I can find a camera, I'll post a photo of the set up.

    Thanks guys.

If you take the scales off the Bear Claw and cord wrap it then it would be even slimmer, that is what I did with mine when I had it. I went to the Emerson La Griffe, IMHO it is the J Frame of the knife world.- George

I tried different ways, different knives, but I kept going back to the TDI LE knife that I got in a raffle. Simple. and it works.

I carry a TDI on my inner belt behind my pistol mag pouch. It blends in pretty well with my black uniform and is easily accessed with either hand.
There is a fight, that began before any of us were ever born. It will continue, long after we have retired, moved on, and left this world. It is a fight for the soccer mom next door, your mailman, the guy that bags your groceries, and most importantly, it is a fight for your family. We are in a daily battle not for land, not for resources or colonial controls...we are in a fight for our very way of life

I use the same setup, but unfortunately I wear a tan uniform shirt (Deputy) and sometimes I feel like people are looking at it. I'm thinking about putting some velcro on the inside of the left BDU pocket and keeping it there. That slows down the draw quite a bit though.

You might be able to just order the handles.
