I recently mounted my T-1 with Larue QD mount and started with their recommendation of having the latch at about 45 degrees when making first contact. It seemed a little light, so I tightened down the tension nut a little more. Even then, I think mine comes off without much effort once you pull to unlock that little plastic piece. I'll have to see if/how it holds zero over time and I'll have to try the cycling of the latch.
I went with the QD as it allowed me to mount the RDS without removing my rear iron site. My rear iron site was a PITA to put on, requiring tapping it into place with a hammer and wood block.
That said, I am also interested in how well the Larue mount returns to or holds zero. I also want to eventually get a 1-4x optic that I can test/try on a few different rifles. I've read good things about ADM mounts, but I'm still a ways off from the 1-4x.
Get the Larue LT660 mount, Its a very nice mount!

I wont use a non QD mount optic since taking a class in cool weather and heavy rain. Between the heavy breathing, rain, and smoke the lenses on my T-1 became so fogged up and covered I have rain they my dot was no longer usable. This happened during some competitive drills on the 300yd pop up range and the only thing that saved me was being able to quickly remove my T-1/LT660 and use my irons. The guys with non QD optics didn't fair so well.
