    VCAS Cobra sling

I'm about ready to order a VCAS sling and saw the new Cobra version on their site.
Has anyone gone hands on with this sling yet? I like the idea of going with all metal fasteners for increased durability but it is a pricey bugger!

Anyone know how much the actual buckle weighs?

We have some in stock and they are REALLy nice. The Cobra might be the nicest buckle in the world. It is solid for sure and not overly heavy IMHO.

If you are using a hook (i.e. HK or Mash etc.) up front, do it so the hook is hanging below the weapon like in the second photo. As long as it is mounted on the loop as shown, you are good to go.

I don't know if it was the weight of the buckle, but at first the sling would drop down to the bottom of the loop and turn upside down, causing the adjustment strap to hide and point inwards. I simply took it off and turned it around inwards, remounted it and the problem was solved. I guess a model with webbing going through a rigid weapon loop (like the standard Colt side mount, or a DD rail mount, etc.) would never have this problem.

I may sell this one and try a model that has no QD at all, to get the benefit of extra adjustment travel.
