LMT Muzzle Threads not to spec (too long) ETA Garbage ass LMT

Edit: Just took it to the range and it’s shooting 20” groups. Unbelievable.

I’ve tried mounting muzzle devices on my rifle for a long time and there’s always been a gap. I’ve solved it by not running suppressor mounts or using the Vortex FH with a lip. A muzzle device mounting on the muzzle is no big deal, but per AAC’s thread spec their mounts should mount on the shoulder. This isn’t possible if the thread is too long.

Spec seems to be 1/2x28 with 0.625” length, and AACs spec is 0.62 +0.002”/-0.000” but my LMT threads are measuring a hair over 0.650”.

Anyone ever encountered this? I suppose I could run shims (if jpmuscle says I told you so please ban him) but otherwise I’m pretty much resigned to never running a can on this rifle which kinda sucks. And before anyone tells me to contact the manufacturer, I bought this upper when George W Bush was still POTUS.
